SPLAT - Art at the heart of the community - Broxburn

SPLAT - reported by a 9-year old

23 November 2005

Splat opened on 15 November 2005 at the Strathbrock Partnership Centre Community Hall, Broxburn. SPLAT means "Strathbrock Partnership Local Arts Team". This is an exhibition of paintings and photographs by clubs in West Lothian. The pictures will be changed every few months. SPLAT took more than a year to plan and it now makes the walls brighter and more interesting for visitors.

Some of the photographs on show belong to Livingston Camera Club. One of the photographs was taken by the club’s youngest member and her name is Rebecca Lochrie. Her photograph is called Cleaning the British Museum. It was taken on holiday in London in July 2004.

The photograph was taken in 2004 when Rebecca was 7.  Rebecca is a member of Livingston Camera Club, and is in her second year as a club member.  She currently uses her granddad's Canon Powershot G5, but hopes to get her own camera for Christmas.
