Who are SPLAT?
SPLAT was formed almost two years ago as a partnership between local arts groups and the Strathbrock Centre Broxburn and we are finally opening in November 2005 as a dedicated gallery.
We comprise a number of local amateur and voluntary arts and photography groups who have worked together to raise money for the necessary equipment to enable us to have all year round gallery space to exhibit our work. I have pleasure in enclosing details of the group which may be of interest to you or the group you represent.
SPLAT currently consists of seven visual arts groups from across West Lothian who have come together to put art at the heart of the community at Strathbrock Partnership Centre, Broxburn. The following groups are involved in SPLAT:
- Bathgate Camera Club
- Livingston Arts Assocation
- Livingston Camera Club
- Low Port Art Group
- Mid Calder Camera Club
- Whitburn Amateur Art Club
- Winchburgh Art Club Day Group
Representatives of each of these independent groups have been working together for almost 2 years to realise their dream of a busy, exciting, permanent gallery and exhibition space.
The Strathbrock Partnership Centre is a unique development bringing together statutory, voluntary and private services within West Lothian in one location to maximise access to services and joint working. The centre was opened in 2002 and it provides an extensive range of social and healthcare facilities under one roof.
